Butsor Ancient Farm is located in Hampshire in the south of England. It is an area where research from the Iron Age and Roman period is brought together. Those who work at the farm are mainly interested in the culture of the working class people of that period and their way of life. It is one of few places in the world where you will find a collection of “round houses” (which are the types of houses people lived in at that time in Britain). They have built 4 round houses to be able to put to practice the research that has been gathered throughout the last few decades. The Iron Age is a marked period of time in history, following the Stone Age and Bronze Age. It is specifically called the “Iron” Age due to the use and production of tools and weapons made from iron. This age is often distinguished from the other “Ages” by a great deal of danger, corruption and strife. The Roman Period was the time when the lands and people of England were under the authority of the ancient Roman Empire.

A “pub” is an word used to describe a “public house”, a place that serves food and drink (usually with a selection of real ales - an alcoholic drink that is darker, heavier and more bitter than beer).
